Tulip or not tulip….the answer is to always tulip! Visiting Amsterdam during tulip season seems like a MUST. The best time to see tulips in Amsterdam is from March - May, especially mid April, according to their tourism websites.
Puerto Rico: San Juan
Puerto Rico has long been on my list of travel destinations, initially for the preconceived notion of being a beach vacation.
ROME: Part I
From the moment I landed in Rome, I experienced, the sound of the lilting Italian language, the June heat on my skin, the smell of summer and witnessed a beautiful sunset on the way to central Rome. I was in love.
Travel: Stockholm: 10 Things to Do
A few of my must-sees in Stockholm.
Travel: Top 10 Things to Do in Nova Scotia
I recently had the pleasure of working with Tourism Nova Scotia and Destination Canada on their @VisitNovaScotia and @ExploreCanada campaign.
Travel: Aruba: One Happy Island
I was recently invited to visit Aruba and stay at the Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort Spa and Casino to celebrate their 25th anniversary.
Paris: Street Lamps
The street lamps in Paris are works of art in and of themselves. I loved shooting between the narrow alleyways and up these lanterns.
India: Delhi: Red Fort
Delhi’s Red Fort
Savannah: Wormsloe Plantation
Definitely at the top of my list of places to visit in Savannah was the Wormsloe Plantation.
Chicago: The Palomar Hotel
The Palomar is a Kimpton boutique hotel with the one in Chicago located in the heart of downtown. The Magnificent mile is a stone's throw away, as is the famed Billy Goat Tavern and Millenium Park. Everything you want to see is just around the corner. It was the perfect location to be for Rebecca Minkoff's #RMRoadtrip at Nordstrom.
Luxurious, contemporary and ecclectic in design with wonderful service and attention to detail, like the animal print bathrobes, perfect for wearing to the rooftop pool (also can I have those at home please?)
This is London, Day 2: The Changing of the Guard
An addendum to this post is: The Changing of the Guard and Not Being Able to See the Changing of the Guard.
Thus photographs of what I was able to see.
This is London, Day 1
A lot of people are considering shifting away from Instagram in light of their new terms of service and I have to admit, I just started using the new Flickr app, which I think is quite robust.
Still, while in London, I Instagrammed a lot and enjoyed how easy it was to share my adventures, but then I realized, there are also these...the real photographs.
This is London. Day 1.
Labor Day Long Weekend: Block Island, Rhode Island
Long weekends are for ferry rides, champagne celebrations, mass production of breakfasts, petting zoos, wishing rocks, pink lemonade, outdoor showers, badminton and croquet tournaments and lots of photo ops.
August: Art to Inspiration
This month's A2I post features artist Lara Harwood's "...now imagine all the thick birdsong thick as a forest"
Harwood's watercolour paintings are sublime, the type of work that could enhance any space with their bright, vivid colours, illustrative nature and minimal subject matter.
This jungley image from Harwood's sketchbook of watercolours from India, 2009, is a piece that really took me back to my own journey through Kerala's backwaters in Feb 2010.
The composition of heavy greenery vs the simple silhouette encapsulates the very nature of Kerala's scenery.
Today, Harwood's watercolour has inspired me to reminisce...
Last month's Art to Inspiration featured my own work (thanks Sups!): July
