I'm always honored and excited to photograph the Hamilton's. This was the fifth time and I can't believe how big the boys are getting!
Meet Baby Julian!
It wasn't too long ago that my friend Alaina was expecting a little bundle of joy...and in the last couple of weeks he arrived!
India: Delhi: Red Fort
Delhi’s Red Fort
Boston: L.J. Peretti Co. Tobacconists & Cigar Merchants
Location:
2 1/2 Park Sq, Boston, MA 02116
Sounding like something out of Harry Potter, with the 2 1/2 Park Sq address, L.J Peretti's is a new discovery, for me, but an institution in Boston, having been in the city for over 140 years and has seen the likes of Bing Crosby, Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau.
Alan and Ginnie, who I introduced to you before in Amsterdam, were visiting with us in Boston last week, and Ginnie stumbled upon L.J Peretti's on one of her walks and wanted to take Alan (a pipe smoker and tobacco connoisseur) there.
Naturally, I wouldn't miss seeing a new (to me) place in Boston. I felt like I was in a Diagon Alley world!
Where the tabacco gives an earthy-ness to the air and the lingering puffs of smoke hover lazily above. Where a smartly dressed man smokes a cigar in the afternoon, sitting on a leather chair that is both sturdy and familiar. Where tins of tobacco and hand-made briar pipes line the walls and cigar boxes blanket every last inch of the counter.
The star of the show, though, are the brass scales. As classic as you can get!
I'm not a smoker, but after stepping into this historic society, I wanted to be a part of its world...and of course, anything with a "Co." in its name is a friend of mine!
This is London, Day 2: The Changing of the Guard
An addendum to this post is: The Changing of the Guard and Not Being Able to See the Changing of the Guard.
Thus photographs of what I was able to see.
Hello Molly!
I had the honor of photographing baby Molly, recently. There's nothing like capturing the innocence, beauty and fragility of a new baby. Molly had just turned four months old at the time of this shoot and was a professional superstar! Her lovely Mom was a delight to work with, singing tunes that, I admit, I've been singing all week!
So, say "Hello!" to Molly! (And to Buddha, who came to play!)
Thank you to Cara and Molly for a wonderful photo session!
The Hamilton's IV
The Hamilton's are always a treat for me to capture, and they are no strangers to this blog! Last summer we went nautical in downtown Oakville and the time before that, we took to the barns!
I feel so blessed to have been able to shoot their fourth annual family portraits this year, where our session took place in their gorgeous home and outdoors on a rainy (pre-Hurricane Sandy) fall day...
To K+S, I just want to say, it's always a pleasure; thank you so much for your support! xo
NYC: The Guggenheim: Picasso, Black and White
While in NYC I took in Picasso's Black and White exhibit at The Guggenheim, a museum I hadn't been to in years, remember THIS throwback Monday?
The exhibit is expressive, robust and void of color, as Picasso claimed,
Color weakens.
Thus, I present my vision of the Guggenheim in black, white and shades of gray....(with a bit of Central Park thrown in for good measure).
Black and White runs until January 23, 2013
Greece: Santorini, Donkeys
"Donkeeeey" (said in the voice of Shrek).
There is an option to ride a donkey up from the water's edge to the top. Otherwise, you can still see them as they come through the shopping alleys, like so.
Throwback Monday: New York City, May 2004
I'm so excited about our upcoming NYC trip in February and looking forward to catching up with some NYC bloggers while I'm there - if you'd like to meet up, send me an email!
One of the last times I was in NYC was in May 2004 with my friend Alicia, whom you've already met on this blog before, here and here and most recently with the newest addtion to their family, here.
This NYC trip took place when we were still in university and goofing around (hence the image of me pretending to take a flip and the one of us freaking out on the plane).
All of these were taken with film. Alicia is a talented web and graphic designer, so credit goes to her for all the images of me.
Here's the first installment of what I'm calling Throwback Mondays.
Black and White
For a change, some black and white shots, from Delhi, Kerala and Agra.
