Dear Alice,

I think you are a nice spot for lunch, your pizzas are  good, the sangria is nice and the ambiance on your patio patio is lovely.

But I'm mad at you because that day after lunch, you forgot to give me my leftovers and when I came back, you didn't have them.  It's okay,  I let that one go.

In fact, I still so loved your patio that I wanted it to be the backdrop for our gathering of eight for "end of summer sangria on a patio" but alas, you let me down ONCE AGAIN!  Again, Alice!!!

See, I visited your site and made an online reservation using your service with Open Table.   I made a booking for 8 for 5:30pm on a Friday on your outside patio.

You didn't say anything on your website about NOT making an online reservation or that you don't guarantee patio reservations or that it would not be accepted when we actually arrived.

So, naturally, I was shocked to learn that after 5pm you don't guarantee any patio seating even if one had made a reservation. HAHAHAHA, 'cause that's the point of a reservation, is it not?

So, here, Alice, I have some suggestions for you.  

If you don't guarantee a reservation on your patio after 5pm:


a) SAY SO ON YOUR WEBSITE

b) DON'T USE OPEN TABLE ON YOUR WEBSITE, because in your case it's more CLOSED TABLE, anyhow.

c) DON'T HAVE A SURLY LOOKING- HOITY-TOITY-RIGHTEOUS-THAN-THOU HOST GREET CUSTOMERS AT THE FRONT TELLING THEM YOU CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE SITUATION AND THAT YOU CAN'T EVEN PUT EXISTING EMPTY TABLES TOGETHER TO MAKE UP FOR WHAT IS, ESSENTIALLY, YOUR MISTAKE

d) DON'T CONTINUE TO SEAT OTHER PATRONS FOR THE PATIO BEFORE DEALING WITH THE SITUATION FIRST!

Not good Alice, not good.
